Our Global Technology and Operations (GTO) business has embarked on a major transformation of its technology platforms to deliver modern global financial solutions to our clients across Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and Asset Management.
We are looking for a business-minded, technically oriented leader who has the energy, edge, and execution mindset to drive our technology transformation. As a senior manager to drive the Clearance and Settlement capability within Post Trade Engineering under the overall Global Engineering Organization, you will work closely with Product leadership to understand the strategic roadmap and business goals, and then lead and mentor the engineering staff to help achieve those goals. You will help design, prototype, and deliver infinitely scalable solutions and drive the transformation in the functionality capabilities you own. Youll work in a fast-paced environment, delivering results to clients, while staying current on the latest technologies, being part of an innovative team that is customer focused and holds itself to the highest standards. As an ideal candidate, youll have experience managing a large organization >100 people (coaching, training, recruiting, performance management), process (SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Agile, Change Management), and platform (best in breed technologies, data management at scale, serverless technologies) in support of driving transformational efforts. From an architecture and design perspective, we would expect you to be innovative and think out-of-the-box while following disciplined and practical decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members and organizations to their optimum performance
Develop and implement workforce strategies to enable your teams to deliver against target initiatives and achieve their goals
Ensure your teams are delivering in an Agile way and consistently evolving and learning. Align to the key tenants: fail-fast; transparency; testing, collaboration; and practicality
Partner with the Product Management team for your assigned functional area to develop the product roadmap which would inform the technical strategy.
Drive technical design discussions, decisions, and documentation that will result in new business or technical enhancements.
Collaborates and partner with business to plan and execute development projects, ensures that teams have appropriate products and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver projects on an aggressive, but achievable timeline.
Own your assigned functional area across the entire technical stack and drive the technical roadmap and continually review existing architecture for improvements.
Ensure high quality deliverables by defining and adhering to robust technical and design standards along with testing (automation preferred) based on the business user cases.
Rapidly address issues and fix defects discovered during client implementations when needed.
Qualifications
GENERAL
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, related degree, or comparable experience
15+ years of experience in a software development environment, preferably at a Fintech firm
10+ years of experience in managing engineering teams, organizational budgets, and vendor relationships
LEADERSHIP
Deep practitioner of Agile and Lean Start-Up methodologies
Strong client service orientation with ability to bring a customer-centric perspective to all situations
Execution focused executive with a get things done attitude who can roll-up their sleeves when necessary
Demonstrated continuous improvement and continuous learning mindset
Demonstrated capability as a lifecycle problem solver (idea -> implementation)
Ability to drive transformation of platforms, processes, and people
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives and customers
Skilled at collaborating and comfortable navigating at any level of the organization
Ability to build, maintain, and grow high-performing architecture teams globally
Strong belief in servant leadership and ability to cultivate a culture of openness, transparency, and inclusion
MANAGEMENT
Excellent knowledge of IT strategic planning and capability development with experience implementing technology strategy and roadmaps
Prior experience leading a software organization through transformation in a large enterprise environment
Demonstrated management experience in leading software architecture and engineering teams; ability to coach and mentor architecture resources and effectively manage and shape team and individual behaviors
Ability to attract, develop and retain talent
Ability to coach, motivate, and lead team members and organizations to their optimum performance
Total commitment to quality and attention to detail
FUNCTIONAL
Functional knowledge of financial market and products along with industry trends.
Preferred experience in financial industry and/or Consulting
TECHNICAL
Must be solution-oriented and business minded with significant practical experience in building, delivering, and supporting IT systems
Experienced with evaluating emerging technologies and recommending potential partnerships that provide efficiencies and competitive advantage within the tech stack
Experienced with developing reusable assets such as prototypes, POCs (proof of concept), and MVPs (Minimum Viable Product) that contribute to organizational effectiveness and efficiency
In-depth knowledge and experience implementing platform engineering practices and organizational constructs
Demonstrated capability across all levels of the stack (network to application), service-based and event-driven architectures, cloud engineering and cloud-native design
Extensive understanding of streaming messaging frameworks and API development
Demonstrated ability building performant and robust technology solutions
Strong understanding of modern data modeling and data architecture practices
Experienced with industry standard programming languages, operating systems, application development frameworks, monitoring tools, and CI/CT/CD tools
Deep understanding of non-functional requirements and their importance to solution design.
