Broadridge continues to experience strong growth and we are actively seeking a self-starter to join our procurement team in Newark as a Sr. Director, Purchasing & Contracting.

In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership and direction of Purchasing & Contracting function. You will be specifically focused on the purchasing value analysis for all supplies/equipment via catalogs/noncatalog buys and the associated supplier selection and rationalization of any tactical related items. You will drive the contracting process inclusive of handling contracts related to catalog/non-catalog buys and tactical goods. The Purchasing and the Procurement requisitioning process including the no PO, no pay process will require attention in terms of process enforcement. The goal is to drive processes around developing and optimizing Broadridge’s spend.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Purchasing:

  • Leads and manages select catalogs and work with end users to figure out optimal mix of goods for catalog vs. off catalog purchases

  • Works with vendors to negotiate costs of goods and drive betterment of pricing

  • Works with various Business units on purchasing initiatives, and agree on business goals and key requirements

  • Ensures process excellence, and frames strategic issues and supply options

  • Ensures others on the Purchasing team understand supply markets and help develop innovative supply solutions

  • Identifies and pursues Broadridge demand management opportunities to increase productivity and drive new efficiencies

  • Collaborates with Accounts Payable leadership to optimize the procure-to-pay process, ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, increase the volume of payment terms discounts received/taken, and support management and accuracy of the Vendor Master File

  • Actively evaluates supplies, services, and equipment usage trends and recommends operational process improvements

  • Ensures pricing is accurate, consistent and established at the appropriate negotiated tier level

  • Ensures negotiated discount percentages are reflected in the pricing structure

  • Ensures correct rebates and/or commissions are received in a timely fashion

  • Builds strong relationships with Executive Team and key partners, removes obstacles for Purchasing & Contracting teams

  • Conducts successful supplier negotiations focused on total cost and ensures all business terms are clearly outlined in any end agreements with vendors

  • Develops plans to support change management initiatives

  • Develops strong supplier partnership and development programs. Conducts quarterly business reviews, measures performance through scorecards, and ensures new value is created year-over-year

Contracting:

  • Responsible for Contract Development, Contract Management and Contract Compliance for all contractual documents, working in partnership with the strategic sourcing team, suppliers, Business units, and Legal

  • Perform contract interpretations and identify related issues via critical thinking to achieve issue resolution

  • Provide leadership in drafting and negotiating terms and conditions with Suppliers

  • Review requests to change contract template provisions, assess risk of implementing changes, and recommend response

  • Secure Legal approval (as required) of response and negotiate resolution with Supplier

  • Review contract modifications received from Suppliers

  • Provide points of view on the implications and next steps regarding contract changes

  • Monitor contract status and report on upcoming contract renewals or expirations

  • Partner with the Category Sourcing Experts to renew and revise contracts with Suppliers as needed

  • Monitor other key contract landmarks and provide Category Sourcing Experts with updates and recommended contract actions

  • Provide assistance to Category Sourcing Experts and Internal Client Business Partners in understanding contractual documents and their terms

  • Assist with drafting and identification of approvers for Contract Approval Sheet

  • Review and interpret Procurement Policy requirements

  • Take responsibility for consultation on and escalation of contractual terms and conditions to Senior Management, including provision of current and potential legal and business issues and/or risks

Leadership and Management:

  • Hires, develops, and coaches Purchasing & Contracting team at Analyst, Buyer, Senior Buyer, Senior Contracts Analyst, and Manager levels. Handles retention, compensation, performance management, resource scheduling and planning, capability and skill development, career development and succession planning

  • Establishes and creates department training and development programs

  • Assists VP Procurement in developing Broadridge procurement transformation roadmap

  • Works with Executive Team to demonstrate strategic value of procurement team, and ensures strong sponsorship and participation from cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong expertise in IT, Marketing, HR, Facilities, and Services from a Purchasing & Contracting, and Strategic Sourcing standpoint

Minimum Educational Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related discipline, Master's preferred

  • CPM, CIRM or CPIM certification a plus

  • Certifications from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA)

  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM)

  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)

Minimum Experience:

  • 13 plus years of professional experience in purchasing & contracting, strategic sourcing, operations or general management consulting, or supply chain

  • Experience in a dynamic organization with experience and exposure in advanced sourcing strategies

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment

  • Ability to lead and influence change in the face of complexity and ambiguity
