Job Description

To provide financial leadership in the interpretation of financial results, insight on impact trends of operating plans and forecasts, and to articulate the financial impact of strategic initiatives. This role will focus on process and margin improvement as well as oversee general accounting functions.

Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

Decision Support (Strategic Business Partnering) and Leadership

  • Drives the ICS International (Canada and Global business lines) as well as the BRCC Canada financial planning and analysis function by bringing business and industry knowledge, leadership, motivation, and a greater level of financial acumen to the group

  • Facilitates senior leadership decision making by developing reliable, timely, and accurate analyses of budgets, forecasts, financial trends and other important topical analysis

  • Considers both economic and accounting implications and applies a commercial / business focus when providing options and recommendations to senior leadership

  • Drive the BRCC and ICS International FP&A integration by standardizing reporting including P&Ls, key metrics, the calendar, etc.

  • Executes on key finance department objectives as discussed with ICS CFO and senior leadership team including the full integration of BRCC and ICS International businesses.

  • Partners with the organization to meet recurring and strategic deliverables; oversees ICS International consolidation and reporting function including monthly, quarterly, and annual close and coordination of forecast, budget, and strategic financial plans.

  • Coordinates with all components of the ICS finance organization to set deadlines, design templates, and maintain integrity of reporting requirements for the broader finance organization's deliverables and analysis

  • Improves the messaging and communication of results, emerging key themes, and communications from the business unit to the ICS CFO and the business.

  • Performs executive level ad hoc analyses to deliver insightful views into the business operations and financial performance, including financial modeling of potential transactions and "early views" into future fiscal years and scenario planning

  • Applies intellectual curiosity, collaborative partnering and thoroughness (detail orientation and grit) on all initiatives

  • Leading local resources in a high-pressure environment as the organization continues to navigate through the fundamental and systematic change needed to align with the company's long term objectives

Pricing Focus:

  • Assists with pricing negotiations of client's proposals and counteroffers considering the financial impact of pricing approach and view of overall history as well as client profitability

Sales to Revenue Focus:

  • Oversees the coordination of ICS International planning and analysis over sales

  • Identify KPIs for marketing function and provide enhanced analysis around cost to sell and return on investment

Basic Skill Level Requirements

Education:

  • University degree in Business Administration/Commerce.

  • CA, CMA, or CGA designation.

  • CPA and Big 4 would be an asset.

Experience:

  • 6-9 years of relevant work experience in a financial planning and analysis role where there was a focus on business partnering and accounting oversight.

  • Experience in conceptualizing and implementing process improvement and analytical tool development.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability to manage up and down stream effectively on multitude of projects (some confidential).

  • Strong financial modeling skills with ability to responsively anticipate questions, articulate results of scenarios modeled, and drive overall business decision support.

  • Fast learner, "can do" attitude, and a calm professional demeanor.

  • Flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions and requirements.

  • Ability to invest in self-development, development of finance team and business partners.

  • Ability to be confident in work product and build credibility and rapport with business leaders.
