Quality Control Inspector (Monday – Thursday, 6:00pm-4:30am)

Kansas City, MO

Broadridge is growing. We are actively seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our Kansas City, MO facility located at 2600 Southwest Blvd. This role is in our Customer Communications Division, which offers a full range of multi-channel communications solutions, such as integrated print, mail and digital solutions for transactional, marketing and compliance communications. In this role, you will work from specifications to perform product and process quality inspections and audits throughout the production process. You will ensure raw materials as well as in-process and finished products meet client, Company and industry standards. You will record statistical data to document and report quality exceptions and recommend solutions, review quality reports and analyze trends and patterns. You may develop, write, implement, and evaluate department specifications and procedures to ensure necessary controls are in place. You will minimize down time by reducing production rework and recalls.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with job, USPS, and/or carrier requirements (e.g., work in process, finished product, finished mail, mail carousel, and mail bundling). May quality check the work of others to ensure standards are met.

  • Perform data entry. This may include building, updating, and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and/or turnover logs.

  • Identify, document, and record quality problems and exceptions (e.g., audit form, production problem report form) and recommend alternative solutions.

  • Review documentation of all quality reports generated, including external and internal quality data, and analyzing trends or patterns.

  • Investigate and track non-conformances.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.

  • Inform department management of problems to ensure compliance with established procedures.

  • Effectively communicate with associates at all levels of internal or external departments to provide all necessary information pertinent to quality assurance activities (e.g., process changes and special requests).

  • Provide on-the-job training to associates.

Hours/Shift: (Monday – Thursday, 6:00pm-4:30am)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent or 1 year of related experience required. Post-secondary education and 2 years of related experience is preferred.

  • Excellent follow up and oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability and discipline to work independently with little or no supervision; takes action without being told procedurally what to do each step of the way; suggests improvements; seeks growing responsibility.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment while maintaining composure.

  • Ability to operate a PC and be literate in using application software such as Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse group environment to work with various personality types to get the work done. Ability to relate well and show respect and consideration for others.

  • Availability for flexible schedule and overtime required and the ability to consistently work the shift outlined below.
