Broadridge is hiring! We currently have a remote contract opportunity for an Oracle Developer with excellent PL/SQL knowledge to join our Application Development team. If you have PL/SQL skills and the experience and desire to become a core member of the development team and play a key role in the success of the project, we'd love to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities:

  • This is an Applications Developer hands-on role

  • The ideal candidate will maintain and improve existing products, working to the firm's development standards.

  • Fix defects found by the Quality Assurance (QA) department.

  • Add new features as defined in the requirements' document published by the product manager or business analyst.

  • Provide internal and external development support. Questions can arise from internal or external sources, you are required to provide a reasonable amount of support for all queries.

  • Opportunity to work closely with technical and business partners across the globe.

  • Responsible for application design, development and delivery and post production support.

  • Challenges the norm, actively looks to seek out new opportunities to improve company’s processes/systems

  • Development tasks should be completed in accordance with the agreed technical specifications & unit test scripts

  • Collaborate with Development Team Lead, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, Senior Development Consultants as appropriate to ensure the specifications and estimates are accurate where any ambiguity arises

  • Follows the company Coding Standards & Design Patterns & Operating Procedures

  • Assist when required, in the analysis of support issues and provide mentorship and knowledge to the support teams

  • It may be vital for the Development Consultant to work in Support as and when required to assist in the management and resolution of support cases

  • The Development Consultant shall take a proactive approach to technical innovation

  • Show a willingness to increase business knowledge and become more system functionally focused

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar

  • Extensive Oracle PL/SQL experience

  • Understanding of the full SDLC

  • Source Control (Perforce or similar)

  • Experience of estimating work and completing tasks on time

  • Results-oriented, with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality software

  • Reliable, tolerant, and determined

  • A good communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view

  • Must be able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic finance, e.g. gross margin percentages and calculations

  • A collaborative approach to development

  • Agile Experience

  • Understanding of solution design

  • Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability

  • Experience of the Securities Finance market and a general appreciation of other aspects of the Financial Markets

  • Willingness to learn from a highly experienced and capable team, as well as to support junior staff to assist them in their ongoing career development

  • Nice to have: Java, .Net, Powerbuilder, Jira
