We are seeking a Supervisor for our Print department. In this role you will be responsible for accomplishing results by communicating job expectations, planning, staffing, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, initiating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.

You will also be responsible and accountable for providing mentorship and leadership to team members, delegating and distributing work, and promoting an atmosphere that supports and develops teamwork and strong work ethics. Additional Responsibilities

  • Personnel administration. You may participate in production floor work as required but it is not the primary function of the position.

  • Assesses staffing needs and makes recommendations to Manager. Interviews potential hires and interfaces with Human Resources to insure departmental staff. Performs annual reviews and trains associates as needed.

  • Complete understanding of inter-departmental Policies and Procedures pertaining to Operations

  • Provides precise and accurate information to staff members by periodic staff meetings.

  • Interfaces both Inter-Departmental and Departmental to ensure the integrity of the daily operation.

  • Works with management to identify key staff/top performers and implements plans to help them reach their full potential.

  • Identifies cost saving opportunities and ways to increase efficiencies and productivity.

  • Prepares operator productivity/quality reports and provides staff with performance feedback. Works with management to prepare performance reviews.

  • Cross-trains staff to ensure that multiple back-ups are available.

  • Monitors employee/temp attendance and ensures that BRD/Operations guidelines/policies are adhered to. Provides feedback to staff and administers corrective action procedures.

  • Reviews work produced to ensure it meets Operations quality standards.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and motivates team to continually improve operations performance. Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and teaches coordinators on their shift

  • Lead and motivate associates.

  • Develop group cohesiveness.

  • Organize the work group.

  • Direct tasks, jobs and projects.

  • Train associates.

  • Ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to. Verifies all administrative work is filled out properly.

  • Solve routine daily opportunities.

  • Reward, Recognizes and Provides Corrective feedback to associates.

  • Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individuals report.

  • Span of control, approx: 8+ FTA's and respective areas of responsibilities including production equipment and operations.

  • Position requires daily communication/ updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.

  • Monitors daily reports on throughput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnel.

    Required Skills - Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education preferred.

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in print operations or similar experience in a related environment.

  • Proven experience supervising staff in a lead or supervisor position preferred.

  • Excellent follow up and oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure.

  • Ability to operate a PC and be literate in using application software such as Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Proven ability to work in a diverse group environment to work with various personality types to get the work done. Ability to relate well and show respect and consideration for others.

  • Availability for flexible schedule and overtime required
